Two months ago, we shared with you that Senate Bill 79 had been introduced in the state legislature. SB 79 (the text of which is available here: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260SB79) would allow for 65-75 foot high apartment developments in single-family neighborhoods that are within a half mile of a light rail or bus stops — such as Cheviot Hills. We urged you to contact our State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas to voice opposition to SB79.
SB79 is now heading to a floor vote of the full Senate this week. Thus, we are asking you again to contact Senator Smallwood-Cuevas to ask her to vote “no” on SB79 to help preserve our single-family neighborhoods.

To submit your feedback to Senator Smallwood-Cuevas, you must go to her website https://sd28.senate.ca.gov/contact and copy and paste your comments into the contact form. In addition, you can send an email with your letter to Senator Smallwood-Cuevas’s chief of staff, Jessica Zaragoza: jessica.zaragoza@sen.ca.gov.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
